My 1st Surgery
I survived my wisdom tooth surgery!

Thanks to my dear friends for accompanying me.. =D

SS accompanied me on the bus trip all the way from Toa Payoh to Alexandria Hospital, while Poohgal and Mr. J met up with us in the hospital itself.

To tell the truth, my mood changed a few times from sleepy to nervous when I was called to go into the resting ward and lastly to scared when I when walked to the surgery theatre.

In the resting ward, the nurse gave me hospital clothes to change. I also waited a total of like 3 hours before it was my turn for surgery and I have no idea why it took so long. As I waited, I almost fell asleep. Haha.. It's weird to sleep for my surgery even started, so I forced myself to stay awake.

When my turn finally came, I walked into this surgery room with the doctors and nurses all waiting for me at the side of the room. Well, in case you are wondering what they wore, they were all in green uniform.

Instructions came from a male doctor and my anesthestist who was also a guy..

I was told to lie on the brown bed which was shaped like a normal bed, except that it had a circle resting cushion at the top of the bed for resting the head.

The nurses were instructed to attach the machines that measures my vital like the heartbeat monitor to me.

The anesthetist said, "Okay, now I'm going to put this needle into your arm."

The other doctor said, "More needles will come".

I was like.. Wah..

Next thing, before I even knew... I totally conked out.

I woke up in the resting ward feeling super tired, weak and blind because I didn't have my spectacles with me. Felt like I slept a long time, which actually I didn't. It was only an hour plus.

The nurses tried to feed me with apple juice, but I could barely feel my mouth. My lips were so numbed that when the straw touched my lips, I was wondering "Eh.. What is this?". It totally felt like a foreign object. At this point, I was imagining an actor in this show with sausage lips. Haha.. Anyway, I took quite awhile to drink because I couldn't swallow. The nurse had to help me cut short the straw for me to drink. The fruit juice actually was quite irritating on my throat because it was very sweet and I hadn't drank any water for the past 12 hours. However, it was better than not drinking because my throat was so dry that I kept coughing and drinking that fruit juice made it slightly better.

After the surgery, talking was a big problem for me. Hehe.. I was mumbling my way through every thing that the nurses asked me. It was a big round of guessing game, but they understood my needs. So it was not difficult to communicate.

My head still felt goggy from the anesthesia and I walked a little wobbly. Luckily, SS came and fetched me home. I have to say again.. Thanks gal.. =)

My mum was pretty shocked to see me pale faced and a mouth full of blood. When I drank a cup of water, blood actually dripped out of my mouth. She was horrified. Ahahaha!

Well well.. I went to rest soon after.. And I do feel significantly better now. My mouth is not that numbed anymore because I can finally feel my tongue and my lips now. I also managed to drink milo and eat a piece of bread, which are my only consumptions of food today before typing this long blog entry here.

I'm tired now. Goodnitez!
