Do you believe in fairy tales?

I used to be a firm believer in happy endings. In these stories, goodness would always triumph over the evil. Where any conflicts/tragedies should befall, "love" would ultimately be the key to resolution. Things would soon right itself. Any misgivings would be forgiven. Most importantly, the prince and the princess which of course, includes the family, would live happily ever after.

You can call my rationality in any terms. Naiveness? Idiosyncrasy? Illogicality or even, stupidity.. Laugh if you want to, for I do not feel ashamed to possess such "absurdness" in my short span of life.

How could one actually be consumed by such naivety? Perhaps from the sweet childhood of having a loving family who doted on their children. Perhaps from the hypontic memories replaying the delusional tales of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Cinderella". All these begets the innocence in forbearance against the harsh reality.

Growing up entails the extension of all kinds of experiences and to mention in particular - love, kinships, friendships. In my opinion, human nature is, sadly to say, unpredictable. You can keep scratching your head at how fast the behaviours of people change. The truth is.. Irrationality is powerful enough to sometimes overcome the test against the "purported" strength of relationships that you or me may think it is. Perhaps to some, irrationality is the legitimate reason for the change and thus, it is the time to change. So, how would parallel point of views ever exist? Given that unpredictability will continue to drive differing minds, fairy tales should diminish to become absolute crap in this case. It's time to "knock knock" and wake up, right?

However, fairy tales exists to be like a flickering orange-light candle in the overwelming darkness to igniting the hopes and dreams of "whatever".. Giving rise to sanity that there is actually goodness in someway and somehow, which really need to be explored further.

In the past century, fairy tales are no longer fashionable. I should say that their forms evolve with time. Now, lyrics and music create the breather that most of us want to take whenever we are tired. Who reads the lyrics, like me? These "short fairy tales" that tells you of disappointment, hopes and dreams that matches up with the shocking pace of this real world. Fast to tell and read to read..

I still do believe in fairy tales. Perhaps not so much of fairy tales of the past and more of the "fairy tales" weaved by the creative souls. Although I still retain optimism in face of grim reality, I do not believe in happy endings as the sole ending anymore, for time has already proven its intimidating unpredictibility of the human side.
